Description
When we talk about the “immigration” experience we often explore topics as belonging to a place, feeling misplaced and culture clash. But my feelings turned more in to longing instead of belonging. A longing for answers about the past, my family, a search for myself in a culture that doesn’t really belong to me anymore. In these series I photograph aspects that could still tie me down to my cultural heritage. Traditions and memories I still cherish and practice. Similarly to a lot of other immigrants who pick and chose details from the past as ingredients to a new identity.
