Charlotte Daniëlse (1996, the Netherlands) is a visual artist running back and forth between Ghent and Antwerp, leaving behind a trail of breadcrumbs, swaying sculptures, and fountains. In 2020, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) Ghent with a Master’s Degree in Photography, and will obtain a Master’s Degree in Sculpture (Fine Art) from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in the summer of 2025. In her practice, she plays with (mis)communication and creates immersive narratives where fiction and reality merge. She works with sculpture, installations, sound, and (moving) image, while imperfections and bric-a-brac elements are not only embraced but actively incorporated — allowing the process itself to shape the final outcome.

Description

‘Zomervoeten’ presents a breakfast table with a sandwich, an empty porridge bowl, and bare feet gently touching—bringing together fundamental elements of touch and nourishment. This image embodies quiet intimacy and presence, capturing how everyday objects and gestures carry emotional resonance. This picture recurs throughout my work—reinterpreted in different materials since my practice spans spans sculpture, in-situ installations, (moving) image, and sound, weaving through these disciplines with a fluid, exploratory approach. I revisit this particular photo repeatedly because it evokes a tender, loving atmosphere—a soft, lingering moment that speaks to deeper human connection.
