Johanna Love is an artist and academic living in London, UK. She studied MA Print at Camberwell College of Arts (1999-2000); was a fellow in Print at Royal Academy Schools, London (2001-5) and awarded PhD at Chelsea College of Arts (2013). Her practice explores images that sit at the intersection between traditional problems of perception and modern technology, images which are at the edge of visual representation and that provoke a number of paradoxical readings, and that offer an arena within which to contemplate themes of perception, time, memory and mortality. Recent selected and solo exhibitions include Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing prize, UK (2023); Impact International Printmaking, UK (2022); Tallinn International Drawing Biennale, Estonia (2021); Visibly Evident IV, West Tyrone Ireland (2021); Drawing Talking to Sciences, Ruskin Gallery, Lancaster (2020); Kloster Bentlage Museum, Germany (2020); Under a darkening sky (solo exhibition); Standpoint Gallery, London (2019). Recent awards include Prize winner at Tallinn International Drawing Biennale (2021), Prize winner at Münchner Künstlerhaus-Stiftung, Germany (2018).
