Description

“In The Shadow We Bloom”, set against the backdrop of different South Korean cities, examines the use of the urban environment as a stage, where individuals craft images of themselves for social media consumption. This ongoing phenomenon is juxtaposed with images of the city itself, blending personal narratives with broader societal observations.

This exploration challenges the curated reality often presented on social media, offering a perspective that combines the personal with the universal, and in doing so, contrasts sharply with the polished images typically seen online.

Although we know the “reality” on social media isn’t showing us the (whole) truth, we still feel connected

with others by scrolling through the pages of friends, acquaintances and even strangers.
