Deelname staat open voor alle levende kunstenaars van 18 jaar en ouder.
Participants must fill out the application form with personal info and submit: a maximum of one (1) image of their artwork in a digital format, and one (1) pdf file with their biography, ONLINE. Applications without biography will not be accepted. Onboards Biennale reserves the right to use this information on its website page and for the audio/podcast.
Please note that after the selection, the final image must be sent in high quality, for printing in A0 format ( 810x 1135 mm -300dpi). If failed to do so, the selected works will be considered ineligible and will not be accepted for the biennale.
De uiterste datum voor het indienen van aanvragen is 15 april 2023.
Er zijn geen deelnamekosten.
The selection board will select the artworks in May 2023. The decision of the selection committee is final and ONBOARDS vzw is not obliged to provide any feedback concerning any decision. All participants will be notified about the selection via email by the end of May 2023.
Note that explicitly sexual, violent or offensive content and obvious nudity will not be accepted because the artworks will be displayed in public spaces and are subject to the City of Antwerp’s Public Art display regulations. Besides that, the ONBOARDS Biennale reserves the right not to accept artworks they consider unsuitable for the biennale.
Door hun kunstwerken in te zenden, geven de deelnemers ONBOARDS vzw de toestemming om deze te publiceren en te gebruiken voor de ONBOARDS BIENNALE website, sociale media, publicatie en publieke communicatie.
Het ingezonden kunstwerk moet persoonlijk werk zijn, eigendom en dus auteursrechtelijk beschermd door de kunstenaar; het mag geen inbreuk maken op enig auteursrecht, handelsmerk of intellectueel eigendom.
By submitting the artwork, participants may, if they wish, authorize the ONBOARDS vzw to sell the prints of the submitted artwork during the biennale and one month after the biennale. The price starts at a minimum of € 100 per art print (the artist will receive 70% of the profit of the sales).
ONBOARDS Biënnale voorziet één zijde van een billboard x 4 weken op twee locaties voor elke geselecteerde kunstenaar (na 2 weken veranderen de kunstwerken van locatie).
The locations are spread throughout the city of Antwerp and across the districts. There is no possibility of a location preference or choice. In collaboration with Agrafa, ONBOARDS Biennale strives to give two diverse locations to each artist.
De naam van de kunstenaar en de titel van het werk worden onder de kunstdruk weergegeven.
Een podcast over de kunstenaar en zijn werk zal deel uitmaken van de tentoonstelling.
Elke deelnemende kunstenaar krijgt een eigen pagina op de ONBOARDS Biënnale website. De pagina bevat de naam, biografie, titel en beschrijving van het kunstwerk en links naar de website/social media pagina van de kunstenaar. Het publiek krijgt toegang tot deze webpagina via een QR-code op het billboard en online.
The artwork will be visible on the website only after the exhibition.
De ONBOARDS Biënnale post en deelt de beelden van de kunstdrukken in de openbare ruimte via sociale media, website en andere mediakanalen van de projectpartners en medewerkers.
ONBOARDS vzw has the right to print and keep/own one example of each participating artwork.
De ONBOARDS Biënnale en partners winnen een Juryprijs en een Publieksprijs.
Jury Award is reserved for the participants of the Open Call and students. The jury assigned by the ONBOARDS vzw will award 3 artists.
Public Award is open to ALL participants of the ONBOARDS Biennale 2023. The public will choose 3 winners by voting via QR code and online.
Alle communicatie tussen de organisatoren en de deelnemers verloopt via e-mail.
Although the participants own the copyright of their works, the ONBOARDS vzw reserves the right to use these for publications, in any public media, written or electronic and/or the social media and other sites of the Onboards Bienniale. Also, visitors will be allowed to take photos of all venues and displayed works. Furthermore, the ONBOARDS vzw is not responsible for the use or misuse of pictures taken at the exhibition by visitors and others.
Chosen and displayed artworks may not be removed for any reason before the end of the exhibition unless ONBOARDS vzw finds this necessary.
Alle deelnemers moeten zich houden aan de voorwaarden van de Onboards Biënnale 2023.
