Alumnus of Sint-Lucas, master student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts
I bring ordinary moments and strong characters to life with quick, thoughtful lines and bold colors. My focus lies in capturing subtle emotions through movement, posture, and expression.

For my graduation project, I wrote and illustrated the graphic novel “Rotte Bananen”, about the often times lonely search for a date. I exhibited at Villa Verbeelding (Wolf and jonge beeldstormers) and created illustrations for Toerisme Oost-Vlaanderen, Borgerhoff & Lamberigts, and the Tuigkrant.

“Niet te stoppen” (“Unstoppable”) is a comic about my 12 year old niece’s relationship with her own scars.

I remember visiting my aunt and sitting next to my niece during brunch. She was telling me a story, and my mind began to wander as I absentmindedly looked at her arm. That’s when I noticed a cluster of scars.

At first, she shrugged when I asked about them. But when she realized I was genuinely interested, she began explaining how she got each one — animated, almost proud, like she was showing off trophies.

The way she looked at me while recounting her misadventures stuck with me.

I stopped feeling shame about my own scars and started to feel my own strange little version of pride.

If she can be proud of hers, then so can I.
