Glyptotek is a key work from Denie Put’s solo exhibition Rubicon, and a strong representation of his broader artistic practice. The title of the exhibition refers to irreversible decisions—moments of no return that mark a clear shift. This idea is central to Put’s approach, where each gesture on the canvas is a committed act, reflecting the weight and beauty of choice.
Working between abstraction and surrealism, Put constructs layered, dreamlike environments that feel like distant ruins or silent, futuristic architectures. His intuitive painting process—impulsive yet deliberate—results in works that radiate both tension and clarity.
In Glyptotek, as in much of his work, we encounter a kind of utopian monumentality. The forms appear suspended between worlds: sculptural, spatial, and strangely still. They suggest a place beyond logic, where memory, imagination, and decision converge.
This painting encapsulates the core themes of Rubicon—transformation, risk, and the quiet drama of decisive moments. It invites the viewer into a contemplative space where meaning is built not through narrative, but through form, surface, and presence.
