Law was born in Hong Kong and is currently studying printmaking at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts for her master’s degree. Her creations stem from the act of making, remaking, and reflecting on failure or error. She views printmaking as a tool for conveying messages, allowing her to respond to and document the increasingly chaotic state of the world. Through printmaking, she has created various prints, including paper toys and books, to tell different stories. These stories often have a dark backdrop, occasionally infused with black humor, reflecting her concerns about war and human rights issues.

Beschrijving

I extracted war-related objects from my past printmaking works—one of which was a paper toy published under a totalitarian regime by my imaginary toy shop—and reimagined them into this new piece. The distorted imagery becomes part of Antwerp’s everyday urban landscape—a chaotic state in which a crisis lurks beneath the surface of Europe.
