Currently, Selma is pursuing a master’s degree in Jewelry Art at Sint Lucas Antwerpen, where she continues to explore the intersection of materiality, body, and wearable art. Her academic journey has led her to develop projects that investigate the transformative potential of jewelry, often merging traditional craftsmanship with experimental techniques such as fabric manipulation and scanning technologies.

Her artistic practice is characterized by a strong conceptual foundation paired with hands-on experimentation, aiming to challenge conventional views of adornment and identity

Beschrijving

A tangible translation of a personal routine.
The work is simple and direct, yet it simultaneously raises questions: How do objects influence our presence? What do we carry with us every day — and why? By representing her jewelry as a mass, Selma emphasizes the physical reality of something often seen merely as decoration.
The silver functions as an extension of her body and identity — not as a status symbol, but as a collection of daily choices, habits, and meaning. Without many words, the image reveals an intimate moment where material, body, and routine come together.
