Annelise Cerchedean (98°) is a multidisciplinary designer based in Antwerp, Belgium. Her creative practice is characterised by spontaneity, experimentation and playfulness. She has an intuitive approach to her design practice where she draws inspiration from her surroundings, she finds interest in shapes, objects and materials, which she translate into a graphic style.

She obtained a Master’s degree in Graphic Design from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2020, followed by an Educational Master’s degree in 2022.

Her design style is focused on simplifying designs to their essential forms, resulting in abstract outputs that are visually and conceptually engaging. Annelise is drawn to digital media and is seeking out new ways to enhance her work by experimenting with new technologies. She blends digital and physical elements in her work by pushing the boundaries of her design practice through a curious and exploratory approach.

In addition to her design practice, Annelise is a teacher at De Kunsthumaniora and researcher at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

Description

The artwork “Knotted Connections” has been transformed into an Augmented Reality filter that can be accessed by scanning the QR code located in the bottom left corner of the artwork. Once scanned, the filter can be experienced on Instagram or Facebook through your phone’s camera. This allows for an enhanced level of interaction with the artwork, as viewers can engage with it in a new and dynamic way. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that merges digital content with real-world surroundings, creating an immersive and interactive experience. It enables digital elements to be integrated with your physical surrounding.
