LISTEN TO THE AUDIO ABOUT THIS ARTWORK

“Sloterplas” is a work in which I wanted to work with an image that characterized my internship and “semester abroad” in Amsterdam. I wanted to work with the different print making techniques (etching, aquatint and screen printing) that I learned during my internship at AGA-Lab, in order to rediscover the feel of tactile printing. The small house I depict is also a work of Dutch Herman Makkink called the “Disposable House” and I see every morning and evening when I ride my bike along the beautiful water on my way to my temporary house.
