Description

Self Standing Natural

Work created with little treasures.

The ring-object from the Self Standing collection was mainly created on the workbench in my studio. It started with a little ‘treasure’. Found and created by myself. This little ‘treasure’ forms the basis of the design.
Does this “gem” have specific details that I want to highlight or hide? What specific properties should I take into account? How does it relate to the human body and what is the best way to wear this little ‘treasure’ as a jewel in the end? What shape and volume suits the human body. How far can I go in the wearability of this piece? The answers to this questions is the jewel-object that have been created.

However, these are my own answers, someone else may have different criteria about wearability, volume, shapes. Hilly Wagenar wears and shows you the ring with pride.

The photo was taken by Aron Viszlo. We both have an affinity with both Art Jewellery and photography and were inspired by each other’s work. That is why we have worked together to visualize the Self Standing Natural collection. Fascinating to see how two different art disciplines can support each other and intertwine.
